Welcome to Science Fiction Lit.
DISCLAIMER: This year, I am moving most of my Science Fiction Lit. material to Google Classroom. As a result the material on the page below is becoming out of date. Feel free to use the material below for resources and extra help, but as of the 2018-2019 school it is NO LONGER an accurate representation of the current skills, handouts, worksheets, notes, rubrics, etc. If you are looking for the most up-to-date material check Google Classroom. Having said that, the two items that will be up-to-date (once they're posted) this year are the Semester Lesson Plans, and the Syllabus page.
If you have any questions, just ask and I'll send you whatever material you need.

Science fiction helps you escape. Science fiction makes you think. Science fiction inspires.
When did we stop reading for fun? Perhaps a more accurate question is, did we ever read for fun? Someone must be reading for fun. After all, bookstores keep selling books, writers keep writing them, and film companies keep optioning them. I submit to you, that the reason we don’t read for fun is because all y’all are reading the wrong books. What, you didn’t know that there are “the right books”? Well, there are. This is why you are here, and this is why I present to you the Science Fiction Literature class! In this class you will read science fiction, discuss science fiction, discuss history and technology, review science fiction, interview authors, interview artists, and think deep thoughts. I sincerely hope that this is the best high school class you will ever take.
